Resurrected Lord, we will be celebrating you soon. Easter is my favorite holiday for so many reasons. You know me & so you know what those are so I won’t enumerate them now. But there is one thing I don’t like about Easter – the crowds. Please help me, Lord, to see them as you see them, to love them as you love them. Help me to rejoice that they have decided to come to Church today. I pray that they will experience You and want to come back. I pray that I can be a part of that experience. Please help me to be loving & hospitable and not judgemental. Lord, use me as your hands and feet. I pray that those who do not regularly come will truly start to search for You, Lord, today. I pray that the Holy Spirit will stir up that longing in their soul that can only be filled by You.
Thank you, Lord, for dying on the cross for us sinners. Thank you for rising to new life so that we may have eternal life with You in heaven. Thank you for dying for every person in Church on Easter. Thank you for loving them, and me, so much that you suffered death on the cross. Please help me to see that we are all the same, we are all sinners. Please help me to be humble and not think that I am better than them because I know when to sit and stand and what words to say when. Help me, and them, to appreciate the redemption that you won for us this wonderful weekend.
All of heaven and earth rejoices that Jesus is alive! All of heaven also rejoices when the lost lambs are saved. Help me to rejoice that you are saving me. Help me to rejoice that you are saving those who are at church this weekend only too. Allow me to sit back and watch in awe as You perform your saving work here in the world and here in my soul. Amen, Resurrected Lord, Amen.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your soul. ~1 Peter 2:24-25
